  • Position Title: Project coordinator (PC) (Full time 100%)
  • Place: El Amal Rehabilitation Society – Rafah
  • Reports To: Project Manager (PM)
  • Period: 6.5 months with possible extension
 
Background
El Amal Rehabilitation Society – Rafah (ERSR) is a civil non-profit organization established in 1991 with Ministry of Interior registration number 5058. Our society is NGO leader working with distinction in the field of development, education, health, culture, training and rehabilitation in order to ensure a better life for marginalized groups, especially the deaf and enhance their capabilities based on qualified professional that use better techniques to build a generation capable of contributing to the building society , it also aspire to distinctive and active participation in building a civil society in which deaf people enjoy full rights in the Palestinian society . 
 
Job Summary:
ERS in partnership with Catholic Relief Services CRS, starts to implement Envision Gaza 2020 Project (USAID-funded project) which aims to create a path for vulnerable populations in Gaza (including youth, women, and other marginalized groups) to become more resilient and self-reliant by (1) providing basic humanitarian assistance to extremely vulnerable households in the form of food and non-food items, and (2) increasing employment opportunities through short-term employment in the form of cash-for-work, cash-for-internship and cash-for apprenticeship, minor capital investments, and job training.
El Amal is seeking qualified and experienced Field supervisor/ Monitor (FM) to implement program key activities.

Key Responsibilities:

The project implementation:

  1. Follow up the implementation and monitoring of project activities and ensure that they are implemented in high quality according to the agreed time schedule and according to the detailed plan (DIP).
  2. Provide necessary support to the project team and field monitors, identify opportunities and monitor challenges in livelihoods, women's empowerment and disability inclusion.
  3. Coordinate the exchange of information between the project team, partners, employers, and various stakeholders and build a network of relationships, support to achieve the project goals and to increase community interest and participation in the project activities in a holistic manner.
  4. Follow up all training components carried out at the Leadership Institute and follow up on all issues related to attendance and commitments 
  5. Participate in periodic meetings held through the partner and CRS.
  6. Facilitate and coordinate field visits by the project team to private operators
  7. Ensure that all technical and financial documents and files related to the project are archived.
Financial follow-up:

  1. The coordinator must follow-up and is responsible for the budget of activities, under the supervision of ERS and CRS.
  2. Follow-up and control of the project's budget expenditures, according to the planned spending needs through coordination with the Finance manager and CRS.
  3. Coordination with the administrative and Logistics support department at ERS and the CRS Technical Team
  4. Submit all monthly and quarterly financial report by the cooperation with the financial manager.
Monitoring the project activities:

  1. Follow up the project team work, the progress of activities and ensure their compatibility with the time frame and performance indicators.
  2. Prepare and write monthly narrative and statistical reports and share them with the project manager at ERS and the CRS team.
  3. Update and follow-up of the database of the beneficiaries from the project activities on a daily basis.
  4. Prepare and write success stories and provide the necessary informational materials such as pictures and recordings.

Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience:

  1. University degree (administration, English, other related major).
  2. Minimum three years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of development, livelihood and women empowerment projects.
  3. Significant experience working on disability sector  
  4. Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
  5. Good writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic;
  6. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
  7. Proven ability to develop progress reports;
  8. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel);
  9. Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment.
  10. Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
