Background

Bayader for Environment & Development (Bayader) is a non – government organization established in 2007 aiming to develop the Palestinian community and society in child protection & education, development and institution building, community development, economic empowerment & civic participation and emergency response & early recovery.

Job summary: 

Bayader in partnership with Catholic Relief Services CRS, starts to implement Envision Gaza 2020 Project (USAID-funded project) which aims to support Palestinian families in Gaza become more resilient to everyday stresses and rebound more quickly from crises, including COVID-19. by (1) providing basic humanitarian assistance to extremely vulnerable households in the form of food and non-food items, and (2) connecting unemployed participants with on-the-job training opportunities with host employers. This includes 3-month unskilled or low-skilled workers placements and/or 4-month internships or apprenticeships for skilled university or vocational graduates, respectively.

Bayader is seeking highly skilled staff to be hired for the following position:

  • Position Title: Project Manager (PM)
  • Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis
  • Reports To: Executive Director 
  • Period: 6 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the overall management of the project, including timely implementation, budget management, staff management, capacity building, and staff career development
  2. Effectively supervise the Project Coordinators, Field Monitors and MEAL Monitor.
  3. Coordinate all activities related to the project, including procurement, community mobilization, beneficiary selection and employer relationship management.
  4. Provide technical oversight to Livelihood and Humanitarian Assistance activities.
  5. Monitor all aspects of the project, including implementation and expenditures.
  6. Utilize monitoring and evaluation tools to measure project outputs and impact.
  7. Maintain adequate administration and filing systems.
  8. Write reports in a timely manner.
  9. Ensure Program Quality standards.
  10. Ensure accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
  11. Actively identify opportunities for innovation and project adaptation to improve impact.
  12. Take part in regular team, program and staff meetings.
  13. Ensure the timely implementation of all Performance Management steps, including Performance Development Plans, Coaching, and Performance Appraisals.
  14. Ensure compliance with CRS policies and procedures, including those of administration, procurement and finance.
  15. Ensure compliance with donor-specific regulations.
  16. Perform any other tasks and duties as necessary throughout the life of the program.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. University degree in international Development, Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, or related field.
  2. Minimum Five years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of development, preferably with USAID-funded projects. Significant experience working on humanitarian assistance, livelihoods projects required.
  3. Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment.
  4. Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) essential. Demonstrated skills in writing high quality English-language reports required.
  6. MS Office applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Spread sheets and other Statistical software. 
  7. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong supervisory skills.
  9. Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
