CONSULTANCY - TERMS OF REFERENCE

UNRWA is a United Nations agency established by the General Assembly in 1949 and is mandated to provide assistance and protection to a population of some 5 million registered Palestine refugees. Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions.

Consultant – Voice-Over Artist, HQ Gaza, (Local)

BACKGROUND

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a Voice-Over Artist who will be responsible for supporting the existing portfolio of multimedia assets.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Handles various responsibilities such as planning, scheduling, recording, editing all the aspects of the project.
2. Delivers smoothly read out loud voice overs with conveying tone and emotion through the voice.
3. Delivers audio soundtracks which must be post processed and ready to be integrated directly into the video
4. The audio soundtracks should be provided in WAV and high-quality MP3 formats
5. Supports the project managers in delivering their digital materials and organize the process as necessary.
6. Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1. A university degree from an accredited educational institution in computer science, business administration, languages, or other related disciplines.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in voice-over, tutorials, marketing, or TV shows.
3. Solid experience specifically on Audacity, and Adobe Audition programs.
4. Good experience and sound understanding to deliver clear soundtracks with free noise.
5. Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in all types of businesses that can be involved in e.g., tutorials, explaining videos, and public service messages.
6. Good sound and clear pronunciation for both Arabic and English scripts.
7. Good command of spoken and written English.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

1. The duration of the consultancy is 3 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
2. Remuneration for this consultancy will be equivalent to grade 12; 1,259 USD and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
3. The incumbent will be based in Gaza.
