Expected duration
- The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
- Remuneration for this consultancy will be on grade 11 ($1,164.30), depending on fund availability, qualifications, and relevant experience.
- The incumbent will be only in Gaza.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and maintaining Android/iOS mobile applications.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Help in maintaining code quality, organization, and automatization.
- Perform software development and maintenance tasks on applications to which assigned.
- Performing limited analysis tasks for the design, implementation, customization, and maintenance of Agency software applications.
- Assist in collecting and documenting user requirements and preparing system and program specifications.
- Assist in preparation of user manuals and other documentation for the systems and applications to which assigned.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications:
● A university degree from an accredited educational institution in information technology, information management, computer science, Software Development , or other related disciplines;
Experience:
● Experience in IT and Software Development, or related experience.
● A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Android/iOS mobile applications development using JAVA, Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift.
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
● Experience in dealing with RESTful API’s, JSON using Retrofit with Gson, and using ASP.Net and MS SQL Server to connect applications to back-end services.
● Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
● Experience with third-party libraries.
● Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
● Knowledge in UI/UX standards, roles, and Understanding of Android design principles and interface guidelines.
● Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
● Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
● Proficient knowledge of code versioning tools.
● Knack for benchmarking and optimization.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
● Experience with design patterns, especially with MVP, MVC and/or MVVM.
● Knowledge of Kotlin, Objective-C, and Swift.
● Familiarity working on AWS Mobile Services.
Competency:
● Good communications skills;
● Training skills and ability to make clear presentations;
● Team spirit and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Language:
● Fluent in spoken and written English.
