Job Title: Communications Officer

An international NGO that works in economic development, and particularly in private-sector development, innovation ecosystem, tourism development and employability.
 

Job Summary:

The candidate is expected to lead, plan, manage and measure visibility and communication activities of the organization and all its running projects in Palestine. When needed, the communication officer will also be required to work with and provide communication support to the organization’s regional projects, including but not limited to those running in Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia. The candidate is expected to have a broad range of communication skills including content creation, digital marketing, public relations, branding, and stakeholder engagement. The candidate should be ready to take full responsibility and leadership of the positioning, branding, and messaging that they produce.  The candidate will also have the opportunity to change roles and learn new skills within the scope and expertise of the communication department
 

Responsibilities:

  1. Conceptualize, plan, manage, and measure marketing communications and PR activities and campaigns across different online and offline media outlets and tactics
  2. Develop marketing communications, PR, social media, and digital marketing strategies and action plans
  3. Supervise the production of multimedia content for different platforms
  4. Supervise the production of branding guidelines, creative artwork, graphics, and illustrations
  5. Supervise the design and development of websites and portals
  6. Plan, manage, and monitor paid campaigns on social media and search engines
  7. Maintain proper and consistent branding and visibility of the organization and its projects
  8. Orchestrate and manage different events such as conferences, trade shows, workshops, roadshows, and media tours
  9. Build rapport with local and international media including journalists, writers, correspondents, and social media influencers
  10. Draft, optimize, and/or supervise the production of content on social media outlets and websites (e.g. posts, tweets, Instagram stories, web content, etc.)
  11. Produce content in the form of news, articles, success stories, press releases, leaflets, reports, and other informational material in English and Arabic
  12. Work closely and manage relationships with influencers, project ambassadors, and other role models.

Qualifications:

  1. University degree in communications, marketing, media, or public relations; a postgraduate degree is a plus
  2. At least 5 years of experience in a similar or relevant field
  3. Excellent writer and speaker in English and Arabic; French is a plus
  4. Professional skills: innovative, creative, storyteller, detail-oriented and data-driven
  5. Personal skills: responsible and self-motivated, with an international outlook on different communication tactics.

The candidate should have the ability and flexibility to travel abroad with short notice if needed.
