Nursing Team Supervisor - MSF

To develop this work from Gaza, we are recruiting a:
 
POSITION
 
MSF Belgium is currently seeking to hire Nursing Team Supervisor part time 50% to join the Medical team in our Gaza project.
 

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION

Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning nursing and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care and the development of the plan of action. 

JOB PROFILE 

Accountabilities

  1. Carry out the functions and tasks associated to nursing i.e. perform as an OPD/ Outreach nurse, whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience. 
  2. Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures and supervise his/her team follow the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of the care and service in his/her speciality.
  3. Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources needs and maintain high standards of quality.
  4. Carry out and/or supervise the ( decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)in his or her department, in order to satisfy the needs of material with efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.
  6. Carry-out and/or coordinate administrative (exit-paper, transfer-paper, etc.), information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.
  7. Give feedback/ reports to medical focal point.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

  1. Overall responsible for the Injured Clinic at Indonesian Hospital.
  2. Follow up the training of the MoH staffs working at the Injured Clinic both theoritical and practical
  3. Responsible for all HR related communications with MSF HR department, specifically: roster arrangement, timesheets checks and approvals, absence notification and replacement arrangements of the allocated staff with the selected back-ups.
  4. Responsible for the implementation of IPC rules at the Injured Clinic respecting the MSF protocols
  5. Carry out the pharmacy and logistics management (inventory, ordering, follow up on consumptions and expirations).
  6. Ensure that patients have necessary documents for referrals, admission or follow up
  7. Ensure accurate data collection and reporting.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education

  1. Nursing diploma is essential
  2. Fluent in both spoken and written English is essential

Experience

  1. 2 years of previous experience in OPD or Outreach Set up is essential
  2. With at least 1-year supervisory experience is essential
  3. Having worked in MSF or other NGO’s is desirable
  • This job description may be amended in line with the activities or evolution of the Mission
  • Selected candidate must be free for all engagement and show proof of non-employment e.g with the Ministry of Health.
