BACKGROUND
Life and Hope Association (LHA) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent society founded in Gaza in 1996. LHA aims at contributing to the development and empowerment its beneficiaries toward a sustainable society based on the real and active participatory for the beneficiaries specially the youth, children. and vulnerable groups.
JOB SUMMARY
In partnership with International Medical Corps (IMC). LHA will start implementing the project “Health Matters: Mitigating the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on vulnerable populations in Gaza.” To improve community capacity to deal with future waves of COVID-19 through capacity building activities, service provision, and increase uptake of vaccines among community members who are not vaccinated and to increase community knowledge and practice of preventive measures to minimize the spread of COVID-19 through structures risk communication and community engagement activities. LHA is recruiting candidates for the following position:
- Position Title: Project Coordinator - Full Time
- Place: Life and Hope Association Office, Jabaliya
- Duration: 7 months
- Strat Date: As soon as possible
- Reports to: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all program activities are carried out on time and in accordance with the donor's rules, regulations, and implementation, as well as the M&E plan.
- Support IMC RCCE programming by collecting data, managing information, assisting with communications, and performing other relevant tasks.
- Plan and carry out regular field visits to ensure that the activities are carried out properly.
- Keep adequate administration and archiving systems in place.
- Maintain program quality standards.
- Ensure that project beneficiaries and local stakeholders are held accountable.
- Participate in team, program, and staff meetings on a regular basis.
- Contribute to the creation of new program ideas in the workplace.
- Perform any other tasks and duties that may arise during the course of the program.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor degree from an accredited university in, public health, Business Administration, Development, engineer or related fields
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in developing social behavioral change interventions and mass media messaging.
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of public health, development, preferably with USAID-funded projects.
- A focus on strategic communications-related experience is desirable.
- Good writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop progress reports.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
- Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment.
- Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge and skills in developing communications materials and approaches
- Written and spoken fluency in English is essential
- Good reporting and coordination skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Proficient in written and spoken Arabic and English
Competencies:
- Resident in GAZA or North GAZA
- Ability to work in a team with limited supervision
- Ability to work under pressure
- Producing results
- Ensuring effective use of resources
- Respecting and promoting individual and cultural differences
