Background

Bayader for Environment & Development (Bayader) is a non – government organization established in 2007 aiming to develop the Palestinian community and society in child protection & education, Food Security, community development, economic empowerment & civic participation and emergency response & early recovery.

JOB SUMMARY:

Bayader in partnership with Islamic Relief Palestine, starts to implement “Strengthening the role of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and municipalities towards environment protection in the Gaza strip” project, funded by Islamic Relief Sweden by grant from Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperating Agency), through ForumCiv.

Bayader is recruiting candidates for the following position: 
  • Position Title: Project Coordinator (PC) – Part Time (75%)
  • Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis
  • Reports to: Executive Director (ED).
  • Period: 5 Months

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. The PC will be responsible for the overall management of the project, ensuring that project activities are up to quality standards and in line with timing of the detailed implantation plan 
  2. Assist in managing the performance of the project staff in the administrative and professional levels
  3. Follow up with project staff developments of activities.
  4. Ensure that all project activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to donor’s rules and regulations.
  5. Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper implementation of the activities on the ground.
  6. Prepare periodical reports as requested by Bayader and donor in consultation with the ED. 
  7. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the program by reporting to donor on the program deliverables.
  8. Contribute to the development of new project ideas in the field of work.
  9. Document all activities of the project and maintain an efficient project filing system including all project related documents.
  10. Participate in planning and implementation for data collection for all project activities. 
  11. Document project success stories and media related cases.
  12. Keep tracking the financial expenses within the project budget
  13. Perform any other tasks required by the ED related to the project. 
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Minimum Bachelor and Maximum master’s degree in civil or Architectural engineering with at least good grade.
  2. Two years of professional experience in project management, 
  3. Three years’ experience working with NGO's on self-help approach at shelter.
  4. Well-are of CHS and shelter minimum standards.
  5. Proven experience in similar position (project coordinator)
  6. Experience managing staff 
  7. Knowledge of donor regulations and compliance.
  8. Professional level in both Arabic and English language skills.
  9. Strong reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
  10. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  11. Advanced computer literacy (MS Office Suite: Word and Excel).
  12. Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
