The Assistant Budget Officer - Staff reports to the Budget Officer - Staff.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the annual budgeting and financial planning by reviewing, calculating, reconciling, and generating forms related to staff cost.
- Assembles and maintains budgetary and financial records and quantitative data and converts such data to be used in the budgets.
- Supports the management with the proper reporting, analysis including costing different scenarios related to costing for reforming and new salary scale., and forecasting for the staff cost and the vacant posts in the budget review and other reviews.
- Prepares the monthly reports of the Agency’s staff expenditure and the financial effects of local staff remuneration studies.
- Assists in updating the Budget Technical Instructions, as required and prepares correspondence relating to the above functions with the related parties. Participates in the development of Agency staff standard costs and loading factors.
- Monitors and adjusts the Agency’s staff cost budgets related to the staffing table and Requests for Post Actions (RPAs) and follow up with the Fields and HQs in respect of RPAs and budget issues related to the changes in the staffing table.
- Prepares the monthly reports on the area and international staff and the vacancy rate that are shared with Planning and Programme Budget Division (PPBD).
Education
- A university degree from an accredited educational institution in accountancy, business administration or another related field.
Work Experience
- At least four years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting office of a governmental, international commercial organization, with emphasis on cost accounting and budgeting within a computerized environment. (Required)

Responsibilities
- - Develops and performs database tuning and performance optimization procedures; develops and is responsible for database security, backup and disaster recovery policies and procedures.
