The Multimedia and Archiving Officer is responsible to the Director of Communications.
Responsibilities
The Multimedia and Archiving Officer is responsible for all audiovisual work of the Communications Division in coordination with the Fields Public Information Officers and provides audio and visual support to various UNRWA HQ departments to ensure synergy and streamlined work output. She/he will be also in charge of producing and streamlining the visual advocacy products, public information and donor visibility visual works in support of the Agency’s communication strategy. She/he will :
- Acts as UNRWA headquarters’ focal point on audiovisual and photographic work; produces audiovisual products and oversees the implementation of video work including:
- - Producing videos and short films and editing, when required, for the Agency’s campaigns or for documentation purposes;
- - Photographing UNRWA workshops, conferences, High-level visits and development projects in the field and creating selection of photos to be uploaded onto the UNRWA online database;
- - Writing the content and approach of video treatments;
- - Proposing programme formats, technical approaches and innovations;
- - Pitching story ideas related to UNRWA objectives;
- Leads UNRWA’s photo archiving work through receiving, processing and archiving batches of photos from all field offices. Implementing standardized metadata for all photographs in the UNRWA archive according to the developed guidelines, workflow and archive structure. In addition to backing up the archive in close cooperation with the team in Gaza;
- Coordinates audio-visual outputs and all related communication products with the Digital Communications Officer, FPIOs and other colleagues in the division as well as UNRWA HQ departments;
- Advises and supports efforts to improve UNRWA’s multimedia content; coordinates and researches similar works at other UN Agencies and shares best practices for multimedia;
- Is responsible for authorizing access for select UNRWA staff to access the online database and processing third party requests to use UNRWA photographs, including sending and verifying Permission Forms, in coordination with Department of Legal Affairs, when necessary.
Education
- A first university degree from an accredited educational institution in photography or any other related field.
Work Experience
- At least 6 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in photography, photos montage, handling digital platforms, ability to edit and produce clips and videos. (Required)

- Advanced abilities in recording and editing videos. (Required)
