About FDC 

Future Development Commission is a non-profit civil organization, that works in the North governance of the Gaza Strip. FDC was established in 2003 and works to develop the economic, social, educational, and health fields through participating in human resources development, achieving social justice and equality and equal opportunities using democratic, effective, and multiple tools.

About the Project 

Empowering women led-business in the Gaza strip is implemented by Future Development Commission. This intervention is part of the TARABOT/Transformative Resilience Programme funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Finland Representative Office (FRO) through the United Nations Development Programme / Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP).

The project will include two main activities; training and coaching for women who lead businesses and supporting women's businesses to develop their capacity to rise production.  the project will develop women's substantial economy (women's cooperatives and women's privet sector), where At least 8 women led-businesses will be supported with equipment and tools. 20 women will be targeted directly by supporting their businesses in food processing.  The project will take place in the most marginalized areas in the Gaza strip governorates; northern Gaza, Gaza, meddle area, Khan Younis, and Rafah. And The project will implement between Oct 15th, 2022 to July 30th, 2023 in different areas of the Gaza strip. 

As a result, FDC intends to recruit for the following position:
  • Title: Accountant part-time (50%)
  • Place: FDC Office, Bit Lahya
  • Period: 9 Months
  • Reports to: Financial Manager   
 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  1. Analyze and evaluate processes and all financial data into a computerized accounting system to assist in conducting financial reports on all levels;
  2. Verify all payment requests and ensure compliance with projects budgets and internal rules and regulations;
  3. Assure that original invoices, receipts or contracts are available upon payment and systematically archived.
  4. Assist administrative staff in daily finance and administrative tasks including cash book recording payments processes, management and input of financial data and supporting documents.
  5. Reconcile all bank accounts monthly, monitor bank account balances, and transfer funds as needed.
  6. Assist payment of monthly payroll and related taxes;
  7. Prepare and monitor budget against actual expense on a routine basis; 
  8. Assist administrative staff in communications with local external contacts (such as partners, banks, public administration offices and institutions, auditors, and suppliers).
  9. Assist in the management of assets and maintain continuous asset inventory periodically and upon request plus management of warehouse movement (in and out);
  10. Participate in the financial management, follow-up of projects, and preparing support documents for projects.
  11. Perform any other duties related as may be assigned;
  12. Systematically update the cashbooks as well as the corresponding Excel spreadsheets.
  13. Participate in the procurement process if needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  2. Three years of professional experience in project management, preferably with experience in working with NGOs.
  3. Knowledge of UNDP regulations and compliance.
  4. Professional level in both Arabic and English language skills.
  5. Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic.
  6. Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  7. Advanced computer literacy.
  8. Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
