Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides general outpatient services and other special services, including maternal and child health, control of non-communicable diseases, mental health, school health, communicable diseases as well as for hospital referrals;
- Participates in on-the-job and in-service training of other staff in accordance with the approved plans;
- Replaces other Medical Officers during their absence, in the same or other health centres, as required;
- Provides services and follow up of data entry and proper recording on the electronic medical records system and required registers in accordance with practice policy;
- Ensures the proper recording and reporting of health information on the electronic medical records system
- Performs other duties as may be required.
Academic Qualifications:
- A medical degree from an accredited educational institution including an internship of at least twelve-months duration.
Job - Specific Qualification
- A valid governmental license to practice medicine in the country of duty station is required.
Experience:
- It is required to have at least four years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience.
- Applications are also welcomed from candidates with less than four years' experience. If successful the salary payable in such cases will reflect the level of experience
- It is desirable to have a post-graduate degree or diploma in public health, family health or other related discipline.
Languages
Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English.
Service conditions:
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
Conditions of service:
- Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1,983.90; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
- Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week.
- Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency)
