Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive maternal health care services including pre-conception care, antenatal, post-natal, family planning, mental health, dental services referral, education activities and counseling according to the program’s technical instructions;
- Participates in all activities including cross cutting issues (GBV, disability....etc.) to ensure that health services are provided within the Family Health Team Approach context and according to technical instructions when needed;
- Maintains a high standard of infection control to ensure safety of staff and clients as well as controls and keeps records proper implementation of medical waste management; ensuring cleaning and sterilization of instruments at Family Planning room and treatment room; maintains a healthy and safe work environment;
- Participates and facilitates in the training activities and on the job training;
- Provides services and follow up of data entry and proper recording and reporting on the electronic medical records system and required registers in accordance with practice policy;
- Keeps adequate recording of received and used supplies needed for the nursing activities in her assigned working stations; follow-up of defaulters’ patients, assists and facilitates home-visits to check on the health status of patients as well as defaulting where applicable;
- Ensures the proper recording and reporting of health information on the electronic medical records system;
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Qualifications:
- University degree from an accredited educational institution or public midwifery institute in Midwifery.
Job - Specific Qualification
- A valid license to practice midwifery in the country of duty station is required.
Experience:
- It is required to have at least 3 years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience in maternal and child health care and/or maternity unit/ hospital.
- It is required to have the ability to use computer and understanding of its usage in health applications.
Languages
Excellent command of written and spoken Arabic and English.
Service conditions:
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.
Conditions of service:
- Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1,372.10; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
- Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week.
- Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency)
