Women and Youth Economic Justice Officer

           Fixed Term – One Year (Renewable)

40 hrs. per week (100%)

 The Role

The purpose of this position is to work with Oxfam team and Partners in West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and Gaza to promote gender inclusion and women & youth economic justice and leadership.

What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
  1. Academic degree in development studies, social sciences, law or related field, specialization in gender and youth;
  2. At least 5 years of work experience in the field of development cooperation preferably with an I/NGO in similar contexts, of which at least 3 years working on gender equality, and WYEJ issues;
  3. Demonstrated experience in designing and facilitating trainings and dialogues on gender with a diversity of audience (communities, CSOs, government, etc.);
  4. Demonstrated experience in designing schemes of youth support and empowerment or market integration frameworks.
  5. Experience in support/lead the design of capacity development programs for youth.
Commitment to a rights-based approach and gender equality;
  1. Solid analytical understanding of gender and youth concepts and latest developments in Gender/youth Justice policy and practice with specific focus on WYEJ
  2. Experience in organisational analysis & partnership with local civil society organizations, grant management & Programme development and monitoring, evaluation and learning to support development programs.
  3. Experience and knowledge of project cycle management, including monitoring, technical and financial reporting;
  4. Extensive experience (at least 3 years) with donor contract management with complex coordination and reporting structures/processes
  5. Knowledgeable about the key issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, particularly on its impact on women economic rights and gender equality in Gaza;
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities;
  7. Proven experience of successful capacity building;
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  9. Excellent level of spoken and written in English and Arabic;
  10. Excellent social skills and demonstrated ability to be a team player;
  11. Ability to work in multi-cultural team;
  12. Specific experience on working on WYEJ in the agricultural sector and/or value chain development is an asset
