The programme “Local Governance Reform Programme III (LGRP III)” aims at strengthening local authorities’ performance in service delivery. LGRP III is implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF), the Association of Palestinian Local Authorities (APLA), and additional partners at national and local level.
To support our work in the field of local development and spatial planning, we are looking for:
“Junior Technical Advisor”
Tasks and Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in implementation of work packages related to inclusive and integrated local development and spatial planning, including conceptualization, planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and reporting, in line with LGRP III objectives and GIZ principles and approaches.
- Assist in designing and implementation of capacity development measures for partners and beneficiaries, according to the overall Capacity Development Strategy of LGRP III.
- Assisting in the integration of Gender-sensitivity and LNOB into the programme’s interventions.
- Contributing to the overall monitoring, reporting, learning and knowledge management.
- Performs other tasks at the request of the management.
Required qualifications, competencies, and experiences:
- First degree in Urban Planning/ Architecture, Public Administration or similar.
- At least 3 years’ experience in working on local governance, municipal development, or modernization of public sector institutions.
- Work experience in the design and implementation of capacity development measures, seminars, workshops, conferences
- Sound overview knowledge of Agenda2030 (SDGs and principles) and its relevance for local authorities.
- Work experience in the field of empowering youth and women is a strong asset.
- High team spirit accompanied with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English and Arabic language skills.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office application (e.g. word, excel, PowerPoint). Multimedia skills (e.g. InDesign, Premiere, Illustrator) is an advantage.
- Ability to work in complex environment and under stressful conditions, self-initiator, flexible and able to work with people of different backgrounds, service oriented, friendly personality, well organized and motivated.
