Position Profile
To be responsible for, and to devise, the development and management of AISG academic strategy with involvement in the overall school strategy and integration with the leadership and operations team. Manage the day-to-day running of outstanding academic programs within the school, and to ensure that all activities, routines, and rules are properly understood, sensibly conducted, & conscientiously observed, while maintaining a supportive environment to enable teachers to work effectively and deliver KPIs.
The Academic Manager will be ensuring that the school delivers a high-quality education for all students with continual improvement in student attainment. through practicing internal Academic leadership. and effective management of the school’s stakeholders in line with the overall direction, accreditation requirements, and commercial expectations of the governing board.
The Position Reports to the school Director (Principal) or assigned responsible by the Board of Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Areas of Accountability
Main duties & responsibilities to support achieving accountability.
1-Strategic Direction
- Actively participate in school’s “Management Committee” with purpose of full integration of outlook, mission, plans, structures, budgets and KPIs.
- Work closely with the school’s leadership team to produce the strategic development plan and produce a termly and yearly Action Plan in line with the defined aims, policies, budgets and objectives.
- Ensure that the school fulfills the various requirements of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and international accreditation agencies.
2-Management of Teachers and Their Career Development
- Define the expectations for teachers’ performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, KPIs, and communication with the public.
- Provide coaching and mentoring of teachers to ensure professional dialogues are in place across the school and linked closely to the academic progress and development of the pupils.
- Confer with staff regarding their professional growth and work with them to develop and accomplish improvement goals.
3-School Operations
- Supervise and chair regular meetings with the school’s heads of departments as well as other academic staff to ensure smooth operations of the academic process and work loads; until final updated structure is in place.
- Receive regular progress reports from the heads of departments academic staff, evaluate, and take actions in parallel with the school’s strategic plan and academic objectives. Fully coordinate with school leadership team and management on performance.
- Support and oversee the new teachers’ recruitment, students’ admission policies and procedures, student affairs, school records, and discipline.
4-Assessment and Tracking
- Oversee the coordination of internal and external assessments and academic tracking across the school so that it can be used to raise standards of academic achievement and accreditations.
- Ensure that the process of reporting to parents throughout the year is maintained to a high standard.
- Analyze and keep record of the school’s academic data, including exam results, report grades, attendance figures and other specific academic areas, including teachers’ evaluation as well as operate and develop and a graduate tracking system (GTS).
5-Curriculum and Academic Development
- To coordinate over academic strategy, policy and practice.
- Establish the annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for students consistent with the school’s philosophy, and instructional goals.
- Supervise and systematically update the instructional programs of the school, evaluate curriculum and lesson plans, as well as observe teaching in classes on a regular basis.
- In liaison and direct supervision on the heads of departments, oversee with the organization and implementation of an appropriate curriculum for the lower, middle, and high schools, taking regard to the needs, experience, interests, aptitudes, and stages of development of the pupils.
6- Communication and public relations
- Articulate the school’s mission to the community and solicit support in accomplishing the mission.
- Participate in the development of supportive partnerships and alliances with the local, international community, & other education providers.

All other duties as delegated by direct supervisor or BOD.
Position Requirements
1-Academic Qualifications
- Holds a minimum of diploma in education; AND
- Holds a minimum of a master’s degree in education or management.
2-Professional Experience
- Proven former experience in academic institutions leadership position.
- Proven experience of substantial classroom-based professional teaching.
3-Language(s)
- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of French is a plus.
4-Key Competencies
- Proven knowledge of the American education system’s practices, policies, and applications.
- Proven knowledge of international standards and best practices considered essential for quality education.
- Proven knowledge of the wide university admissions requirements.
- Experience in management practices and standards.
- Aware of distance-based learning, blended learning concepts & apps.
- Research and problem-solving skills in teaching & learning context.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Exclusive self-driven character, teamwork and IT skills.
