Bayader for Environment & Development (Bayader) is a non – government organization established in 2007 aiming to develop the Palestinian community and work at the sectors of food security, Protection, Community development, economic empowerment and emergency response & early recovery.

Job summary:

Bayader is in the process to start implementing a Planting project targeting small farmers in the Gaza Strip who need assistance to cultivate their lands with olive trees and different types of field corps which are well suited to the environment in Gaza and generate regular income which will highly support their livelihoods, and also participate in increasing the green area and thus protecting the Environment.

Within this project, Bayader is recruiting candidates for the following position:

  • Position Title: Project Coordinator (PC) – Full Time (40 working hours per week)
  • Place: Bayader Office, Khan Younis
  • Reports to: Executive Director (ED)
  • # of Vacancies: 1
  • Period: 12 Months
  • Start Date: Based on fund secure

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the overall management of the project, ensuring that project activities are up to quality standards and in line with timing of the detailed implantation plan
  2. Assist in managing the performance of the project staff in the administrative and professional levels
  3. Follow up with project staff developments of activities.
  4. Ensure that all project activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to donor’s rules and regulations.
  5. Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper implementation of the activities on the ground.
  6. Prepare periodical reports as requested by Bayader and donor in consultation with the ED.
  7. Assist in monitoring and evaluating the program by reporting to donor on the program deliverables.
  8. Document all activities of the project and maintain an efficient project filing system including all project related documents.
  9. Participate in planning and implementation for data collection for all project activities.
  10. Document project success stories.
  11. Keep tracking the financial expenses within the project budget.
  12. Perform any other tasks assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economics, agronomist or related field
  2. Minimum three years of progressively responsible work experience in similar field.
  3. Minimum one year experience working with NGOs.
  4. Significant experience working on humanitarian assistance, livelihoods projects required.
  5. Good writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  6. Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  7. Proven ability to develop progress reports.
  8. Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
  9. Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in a multicultural, team-oriented environment.
  10. Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
