Projects Coordinator -  Ahli Arab Hospital

Ahli Arab Hospital (AAH) is a local health not-for-profit organization, providing health care for all Gaza residents. Further, AAH implements several health projects to support vulnerable communities in particular women and children. AAH operates according to principles of strict neutrality, political and religious impartiality, and non-discrimination.

Ahli Arab Hospital is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of projects 

Coordinator for a total of 12 months period (extendable) - with three months’ probation period. The Project Coordinator will provide overall management of all project activities. S/he will have responsibility for the representation of the project and will be responsible for the financial, HR, monitoring, and evaluation activities of the project.


Functions & Responsibilities:

The employee shall perform the duties of a Projects Coordinator in position at Ahli Arab Hospital under the guidance of the Programs Manager which includes the following:

  1. Follow up on the developed, planning and implementing project activities in coordination with Management of Ahli Arab Hospital (AAH) and with donors.
  2. Follow up the projects according to the project plan to ensure the desired results are achieved, the most efficient resources are used and the different stakeholders involved are satisfied. 
  3. Participate in ToRs developing, procurement processes, budget tracking, and other work plans.
  4. Provide close follow up of expenditures to ensure the effective and appropriate utilization of funds
  5. Conduct regular field visits to gather data (FGDs, interviews, meetings, etc.) and follow up on the progress. 
  6. Conduct data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation as per the scope of the project and reporting. 
  7. Set up software and hardware archiving to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
  8. Ensures that all needed information/figures necessary for reporting are well tracked and recorded. 
  9. Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion and achievement of results
  10. Document lessons learned, best practices and success stories to contribute to learning.
  11. Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
  12. Prepares and submits regular reports related to different projects as per AAH and donors guidelines.
  13. Review and update project work plans, monthly project report, and project management follow-up templates in line with completion of targets and progress.
  14. Assist the programs Manager in the development of an effective monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEL) plans in line with the overall performance management plans.
  15. Assist Programs Manager to ensure the performance of the project in terms of quality, efficiency and compliance with AAH and donors rules and policies.
  16. Coordinate between AAH and partners (including CBOs and other key stakeholders) for data collection, sharing information, and any other purpose as per needed.
  17. Support AAH in representing its programs and interventions internally or externally.
  18. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

General responsibilities:

  1. The Coordinator maintain respect at all times for confidential information.
  2. The Coordinator should follow the rule and regulations as well as policies of the hospital.
  3. The Coordinator shall not divulge any information relating to the hospital work, which may tend to injure the reputation of the hospital.
  4. The Coordinator performs other duties as assigned by AAH Programs Manager. 

Institutional Arrangement 

  • The Project Coordinator will work under the guidance of the direct supervision of the Programs Manager to undertake the assigned functions to ensure the success of the projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.  
  2. Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the field of projects coordination and/or management at national and international NGOs.  With strong knowledge in cross-cutting issues. 
  3. Good Knowledge and experience in the health and public health in Gaza. 
  4. Good experience in Project Cycle Management.
  5. Experience in the field of GBV is an advantage.
  6. Excellent in data analysis and interpretation. 
  7. Excellent reporting skills in both English & Arabic.
  8. Highly organized, reliable attention to details and ability to work independently when needed.
  9. Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and donors.
  10. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, prioritize workload and multi-task.
  11. Mature work practices, highly motivated and demonstrate sound judgment
  12. Fluency in both English & Arabic languages including both written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Advanced computer literacy.
