TVET Program Coordinator - NECC

  • Duration of Initial Contract: 12 months

Organization Overview:

Near East Council of churches Committee for Refugees Work (NECCCRW)-the Gaza Area Committee is part of the Department of Service to the Palestine Refugees (DSPR). The DSPR is a department of the Middle East Council of Churches. NECCCRW Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian Society and culture and operates with support from the churches, ecumenical and secular organizations. NECCCRW Gaza Committee was founded in 1952 launching a humanitarian program to assist Palestinians who took refuge in the Gaza Strip following the establishment of Israel in 1948.

Its work has rested on respecting the humanity and dignity of those whom it helps and on adherence to clear transparency and accountability standards. NECC supports the Palestinian people through six key areas: Health (Maternal and Child Primary Health Care), Technical Vocational Education and training (Empowering Youth Economic Status), Educational Loans for university students, Psychosocial Support for children, mothers, and students to cope with the negative impact of Gaza Violence, Emergency Relief projects including cash Relief and Job Creation initiatives, Advocacy policies and activities shared with the community, and community Development program.

Project Overview:

NECC is launching a 3-year project titled "Contribute to the economic empowerment and social integration of youth (especially women and people with disabilities) in Gaza, within a logic of sustainable development" in partnership with AFD and Caritas France.

The project aims at the economic empowerment and social integration of youth (especially women and PWDs) in Gaza and is anchored in a logic of sustainable development. Beyond the vocational training activities that NECC runs, the aim also is to strengthen the synergies between TVET actors, specialized in the training sector, in order to develop knowledge and practices in the field of youth employability that are more inclusive and oriented towards sustainable development.

Additionally, the project is strengthening NECC expertise so that it enriches its training offer with special attention on more participation of youth and foster their role in the project.

Position Overview:


NECC is seeking for a highly qualified candidate to undertake this job position starting from 1st October 2023 with a 1-year initial contract which will be extended to 3 years upon performance.

The highly motivated and skilled Field Coordinator will be part of a team working on achieving the objectives of the project. He/she will be a link between the project manager and the VTC supervisors and will build up and maintain a close coordination with NECC project staff, local organizations and project partners to ensure the smooth and proper implementation of project activities.

Job duties: (Under the supervision of Project Manager)

  1. Project Implementation: Assist the Project Manager in the implementation of all project activities.
  2. Data Collection and Reporting: Collaborate with the project team to collect relevant data and maintain an up-to-date database of project participants for effective monitoring and performance improvement.
  3. Field Coordination: Take a leading role in coordinating project activities in the designated area, including organizing training sessions, workshops, and meetings, and facilitating communication among project stakeholders.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise actively with project stakeholders i.e., staff, project participants, consultants, local partners, community members, and relevant organizations to build strong relationships and ensure their active participation in the project.
  5. Awareness-Raising Sessions: Facilitate the implementation of awareness-raising sessions for project participants, delivering valuable information and promoting engagement.
  6. Capacity Building: Assist in identifying capacity-building needs of project participants and assist in implementing training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  7. Monitoring and Evaluation: Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation process, filling in MEL forms and providing valuable insights and feedback to improve project outcomes.
  8. Financial Management: Assist in monitoring project expenses and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with established financial procedures.
  9. Procurement: Assist in the procurement operations of different services and commodities.
  10. Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports and submit them to the Project Manager, updating on project activities, challenges, and achievements.
  11. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, providing support and coordination to achieve project objectives collectively.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, development studies, social sciences or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project field coordination or management, preferably in the field of education or community development or youth participation.
  3. Strong understanding of the Gaza context and challenges faced by women, youth and PWDs in Gaza.
  4. Strong computer skills, including MS Office and data collection and management tools.
  5. Excellent coordination and communication skills to engage with stakeholders effectively including community members, local partners, etc.
  6. Proven ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Proactive and self-driven with the ability to work independently and within a team.
  8. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  9. Commitment to promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in Gaza.
