Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an International Medical Organization, which has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.
 
MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of:
 
-Psychologist, Gaza Base (1 Position)
Starting date:    Nov 1st, 2023
Type:     Full Time Contract
Duration: 04 Months –Maternity Leave Replacement

Purpose:            
The role of the Psychologist is to assist in the implementation of MHPSS activities of MdM France in Gaza Base, in a timely manner and in accordance with the agreed workplan and facilitate the delivery of quality MHPSS activities on different levels.
 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. -Technical/ operational organization
  2. -Implement and follow-up MHPSS projects activities of MdM France under supervision of MH Manager.
  3. -Participate in capacity building activities for MdM France`s governmental and non-governmental partners.
  4. -Implement technical supervision and follow-up activities for medical and non-medical MHPSS Teams.
  5. -Participate in the process of designing emergency response methodologies, field activities, preparedness, and response plans.
  6. -Participate in the process of creating, capacitating, supervising, and monitoring MHPSS teams and focal points under supervision and delegation by direct supervisor.  
  7. -Participate in the planning and scheduling of project activities if requested by the direct supervisor.
  8. -Assess training needs of MdM France partners and assist in organizing and providing MHPSS trainings accordingly in coordination with MH Manager.
  9. -Provide MHPSS technical supervision and follow-up for trained medical and non-medical, Specialized, and non-Specialized teams.
  10. -Provide structured technical support related to GBV case`s MHPSS needs.
  11. -Provide structured technical information on case management for MHPSS cases.
  12. -Provide structured information on referral pathways and networking for MHPSS and GBV Cases
  13. -Field /Follow up and monitor.
  14. -Create Data Collection and follow-up Tools for field use by MdM France Partner`s MHPSS Teams.
  15. -Create Assessment forms and other technical files and forms according to the needs of MHPSS service providers.
  16. -Ensure that trainees complete satisfactorily their training course, through an assessment of trainees’ attendance, their performance and satisfaction.
  17. -Participate in data collection on MHPSS, GBV and any other relevant data needed by MdM France MHPSS Department inside partner NGO`s, shelters, CMHC`s, PHCCs and Hospitals.
  18. -Participate in the data collection needed for assessments and final reports.
  19. -Collaborate and participate in any field survey, data collection, and/or need assessment organized by MDM-F in relation to health, Mental Health, GBV or any other relevant theme.
  20. -Keep and improve the current data collection system for MHPSS & GBV activities according to the needs of reporting.
  21. -Analyze collected data on monthly, quarterly, or Annual bases or/and as needed by MdM France Mental Health Department. 
  22. -Reporting, follow up and monitoring:
  23. -Provide program operational reports based on the request of the MH manager. 
  24. -Provide a monthly report of activities not later than the 7th of the following month. 
  25. -Contribute to the MHPSS data analysis in collaboration with the Mental Health Team.
  26. -Immediately report emergency MHPSS needs at community level.

متطلبات الوظيفة

  1. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a major in Psychology. (A master’s degree in psychology and/or a Post Graduate High Diploma in Community Mental Health is highly desirable).
  2. Considerable MHPSS practical experience in relevant field.
  3. Experience working in humanitarian sector, proactivity, autonomy, and ability to work in a team.
  4. Experience in training and supervising MHPSS specialized and non-specialized MHPSS Staff.
  5. Considerable knowledge of mhGap Guidelines (DSM 5) and other relevant MHPSS resources (Previous Official mhGAP Training will be an asset).
  6. Considerable knowledge of common MHPSS conditions and needs in PHCCs.
  7. Considerable experience in providing MHPSS Trainings (including training for medical teams on the integration of MHPSS in medical facilities)
  8. Proven experience in providing emergency psychological interventions and in training MHPSS teams on PFA and other mental health emergency intervention techniques.
  9. Knowledge and experience in Child Protection and GBV SOP’s and other locally adapted Mental Health Protocols for the management of MHPSS needs in GBV Survivors.
  10. Experience in individual, family and group sessions.
  11. Experience in providing and training Stress Management and Self-care sessions.
  12. Experience in Community Psychoeducation and Awareness raising activities.
  13. Experience in Project monitoring and reporting.
  14. Previous work experience with international organizations is an asset.
  15. Strong communication and facilitation skills
  16. Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  17. Excellent writing skills and Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  18. Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken)
  19. Experience in conducting technical supervision sessions for medical, para medical and MHPSS teams.
  20. Understanding of group dynamics and healthcare settings (doctors, nurses, psychologists… etc.)
